The Pollution Control Department (PCD), in collaboration with the private sector, launched the Recycle Market app and the \"Recycle Hero\" app to serve as the national digital platform hub for online recyclable materials trading, connecting all sectors.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Mr. Atthapol Charoenchansa, Director-General of the Pollution Control Department (PCD), stated that the PCD, together with the Plastic Industry Group of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and the Public-Private-Civil Society Partnership to Manage Plastic Waste Sustainably (PPP Plastics), launched the Recycle Market app and the \"Recycle Hero\" app from the Uncle Sala-eng and the Disappearing Trash page, to serve as the national hub app for recyclable materials trading connecting all sectors \u2014 including the general public, sala-eng collectors, scrap-buying vehicles, scrap shops, recycling factories, and recyclable material transport vehicles \u2014 enabling direct buying and selling. The apps include a points accumulation system redeemable for rewards and benefits from partner company networks, incentivizing more public waste sorting and increasing the value and quality of plastics and other recyclable materials, thereby reducing waste sent to landfills and preventing waste from escaping into the environment. Crucially, public participation in behavior change, waste sorting promotion, and support for the government's Plastic Waste Management Roadmap will help the country achieve 100% plastic recycling. The applications serve as digital platform online marketplaces for buying, selling, and exchanging recyclable waste between those with plastic scraps or scrap shops and those needing plastic scraps as raw materials or recycling factories \u2014 reducing plastic scrap imports and opening more channels to return recyclable waste into the system for sustainable plastic waste management. The apps are available for free download on both Android and iOS.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

Mr. Pharadorn Julachat, Chairman of the Public-Private-Civil Society Partnership to Manage Plastic Waste Sustainably (PPP Plastics), stated that growing awareness among industry players and brands has significantly increased the supply of recycled plastic pellets. However, the country's waste management infrastructure is still unable to return plastics into the system at a rate sufficient to meet market demand. Therefore, developing the Recycle Market app will be an important tool connecting recyclable materials trading, increasing opportunities for plastics and other recyclable materials to re-enter the system \u2014 driving business momentum in the recycling industry and comprehensively promoting sustainable plastic and waste management in the future.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
